MA in Special and Additional Learning Needs (Online)

MA / PG Cert / Diploma programme in Special and Additional Learning Needs which is being offered in collaboration with The University of East London.

The typical duration of the Masters programme is between 2 and 6 years. The additional programmes are assessed over a shorter period. The PG Cert can be completed in under a year, and the Diploma is typically completed in one and a half to two years. 

A suite of unique modules have been developed solely for this programme and will offer students specialist, practical knowledge in special and additional educational needs. Participants can customise the programme to their needs by choosing the modules which reflect their specific interests.

Participants can enrol to commence the programme in September or January. There are three terms every year, beginning in September, January, and April and participants will normally complete one 30 credit module per term. Each module is taught online over a period of eight weeks, with a further two weeks for the completion of a written assignment.

The fees involved are £900 (per module) which is payable as you go. 

Total fees:

-          PG Cert is £1800

-          PG Diploma is £3600

-          MA is £5400

Advanced Diploma / Cert HE in Special Educational Needs (Online)

The Advanced Diploma and Certificate of Higher Education in Special Educational Needs were developed in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University and we are currently enrolling for our January 2016 Term.

The Advanced Diploma course involves studying three modules of your choice (you choose three from a suite of six options) and it is usually completed over one year.This is a graduate level award at Level 6 which is the same level as an honours degree. It is suitable for educators and Higher level teaching assistants who wish to acquire a specialist qualification in SEN.

The Cert HE is structured in the same way, but involves completing a total of six online modules usually over two years. This is an undergraduate award and is suitable for those at the start of their career or who wish to build credits towards a degree. 

The following modules are available on both programmes:

·         Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties

·         Autism

·         ADHD

·         Dyslexia

·         Inclusive Education and Collaborative Practice

·         Learning Difficulties and Disabilities

Each module lasts 8 weeks with a further 2 weeks to complete your written assignment which is a 3000 word essay or the equivalent.

There are three terms a year, they are; in January,April and a further session in September. We accept enrolments throughout all terms.  

The fees are £1998 per year and payment plans can be arranged with the university so that fees are paid in instalments.
