THE GUMCATCHER

The outer casing and hinged door is cast from recycled aluminium and can be powder coated in a choice of colours.

The Gumcatcher clamps around most posts – this includes lamp posts, traffic lights, pedestrian crossing beacon poles and, as well as onto bollards, walls or other flat surfaces.

At the heart of the bin is a removable, fire resistant liner made of inert material with exceptional non-stick qualities.

All the operator has to do is unlock the door, using an industry standard key, and empty the liner by simply inverting it with one hand. An easy, quick and clean operation.

Every Gumcatcher has a brightly coloured 'mouth', designed to catch the eye from virtually any direction.

The 'mouth' is sized and positioned to encourage the placing, rather than the throwing, of gum and butts in the opening.

For cigarette disposal a 'stubbing out lip' has been built into the opening and positioned so the ash and butt slips directly into the liner.

Gumcatchers™ can be placed wherever needed thereby eliminating the excuse that there was "nowhere to put it".

THE AD CAMPAIGN

Drawing on the lessons learned in recycling programmes we have developed an advertising and publicity campaign to positively reinforce the use of Gumcatchers™.

The idea is to make the use of Gumcatchers™ fun, to build goodwill as part of a long term campaign to improve litter awareness and responsibility.

The campaign centres on the idea of feeding the Gumcatcher chewed gum and butts, with the slogan:

The campaign will be available to use in all media, from posters in High Streets to leaflets in schools and across electronic media via the web and mobile telephone.

THE REVENUE OPPORTUNITY

On the front of the Gumcatcher we have included a badge area for local authority or other branding.

This space could be offered on a yearly basis to any approved enterprise that is interested in showing the public it cares enough about the streets we live in to sponsor a Gumcatcher.

Obviously all proposals for advertising would have to be carefully considered with an eye to balancing both impact and visibility, but this said, it is a unique opportunity.

Gumcatchers™ are being installed by councils and private businesses across the UK and have proven their effectiveness on high streets to office blocks.. even indoors at Universities and colleges seeking to protect their flooring from gum damage.
