Temperature monitoring for food safety
It is important that the public receive the best standards possible in the production, transportation, storage and delivery of fresh foods, particularly with partly-cooked meats or fish products. Chilled foods should be kept at less than 8°c for the whole of its shelf life, and dishwashers should remain at no less than 82°c to suitably sterilise equipment.
Data logging keeps stored data for verification and helps identify the source of any errors made in storage or transportation to help keep required verification records, and provide evidence that regulations have been met.
A fault in electricity, intrusion or insufficient delivery of products can all be to blame for a consignment deteriorating, but it is important for suppliers and manufacturers to discover the cause of the problem if necessary.
Gemini Data Loggers’ Tinytag range provides effective, robust and reliable temperature monitoring and validation products, which give the professional analysis needed, to not only meet EU legislation, but also contribute to the highest-quality product for the consumer.
The Transit model is the lowest-cost Tinytag data logger, and it is now BS EN12830 compliant, making temperature data logging in transport within EU guidelines an affordable possibility. The Splash 2 data logger is a fast response unit, waterproof to a depth of 15m, and its data can be downloaded via a USB or serial download pad, making it ideal for dishwasher monitoring. The
Tinytag View 2 logger is also BS EN12830 compliant, providing the same reliability, but has an external display to streamline spot-checking processes, as well as collect data for download.
Temperature monitoring in the catering industry is stringent, with the EU requiring every manufacturer and supplier responds to HACCP measures.
