BREEAM Award For Modular Prison Gatehouse

Manufactured off site by Britspace, the new gatehouse utilises some of the latest off site technologies and eco-friendly solutions. Some key features include:
· Low Zero Carbon technologies: Hot water produced via a solar thermal system (supplemented by a gas boiler)
· Rainwater harvesting system
· Highly sustainable materials specification (awarded all three credits plus exemplary level credit)
· A CCS score of 36 (awarded both credits plus exemplary level credits) - Contributed by ISG
· Very low water use fittings
· Sub metered substantial energy uses
· Zoned heating and lighting systems
Working in partnership with ISG, the Britspace building achieved a BREEAM rating of Excellent with a score of 74.1%. BREEAM sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become one of the most comprehensive and widely recognised measures of a building’s environmental performance.
